This historic building was formerly the home of the famous 18th century composer Antonio Vivaldi, best known for his composition of the “Four Seasons”. In 1999 the owners decided to transform this precious landmark into a small and charming hotel. They realized that its splendid location facing the basin of Saint Mark’s and closeness to the same square would make a beautiful boutique hotel.
They maintained the original structure and refurbished the stuccos, gildings, marbles and antique furniture. They wanted to keep the feel of the Venetian residence so they decorated according to the ancient tradition with precious fabrics, curtains, drapes, oriental carpets and illumination by the warmest light of the blown Murano glass chandeliers.
The Locanda Vivaldi is distinguished by its kindness, professionalism and quality services offered by the staff who are always available for guests in order to satisfy any their desire. The 27 rooms have all the comforts: shower or Jacuzzi bath, satellite TV, air conditioning and central heating, mini bar, safe and piped music. Many rooms view the Basin of Saint Mark’s or the side canal.
The hotel boast a beautiful terrace on the 3rd floor with an incredible view of the lagoon and the Islands of San Giorgio and Giudecca just across the way. They serve both lunch and dinner from April to October and have a bar service during the day and evening.
